Why is it called Mokhaport?
The name comes from the Yemeni Port of Mokha — the historic Red Sea seaport that was the center of the global coffee trade from the 15th to 18th century, and the origin of the word "mocha."
What is Yemeni Khawlani coffee?
Khawlani is one of Yemen's most prized coffees, grown at 1,400–2,500 m elevation in the Khawlan-Bani Amer region of Saada Governorate. It's 100% Arabica, sun-dried on rooftops, and known for chocolate, raspberry, and floral notes — sweeter and more aromatic than typical Arabica.
What's the difference between Yemeni and Ethiopian coffee?
Both Yemen and Ethiopia are origin countries of coffee itself. Yemeni Khawlani tends toward chocolate, berry, and rose notes with a creamy body. Ethiopian Yirgacheffe is brighter and more floral, with jasmine, bergamot, citrus, and stone-fruit notes. We serve both as single-origin so you can compare them side by side.
What is Adani chai?
Adani (also spelled "Adeni") chai is a Yemeni milk tea named after the southern Yemeni port city of Aden. It's brewed with black tea, cardamom, cloves, and milk, sometimes sweetened with condensed milk. Sharing Adani chai is a traditional gesture of Yemeni hospitality.
